hello summer

Tuesday, May 31, 2011
Bye-bye May! All my life summer hasn't officially started until the month of June. Like it just wasn't really summer until May was over. I have big plans this summer. Lots of little goals to work towards. I made a list, checked it twice and now I'm ready to start checking things off!

wedded bliss

Monday, May 23, 2011
It was a long, lovely day from start to finish. I don't think there's ever been a more laid back, relaxed bride. I love weddings! There was something special about this one. Maybe it's becasue I've known her forever and all of her dramas and phases and have watched her grow up. It's so obvious when people finally find their One. She definitely has. There wasn't a dry eye in the whole place.

let the frenzy begin!

Bridesmaids luncheon today after our mani pedis. I've never done something so girlie in my life. This bridesmaid duty has been fun though. I made 150 hand held fans this week and I have to say they turned out pretty awesome. Especially for last minute. I was proud and the bride loved them. Rehearsal tonight and hair and make up bright and early at 8 a.m. in the morning. Whew!

Life is good!

little friendlys

Thursday, May 5, 2011
There are these two little birds that live at my house. I watch them all the time and they watch me. Some days when they're feelin frisky they'll let me get pretty close for a visit. Little do they know I've been snapping pictures of them alot lately.

Little did I know, they had a little baby!! I finally figured out what they were doing! Teaching baby to fly! I was stoked that I got to witness this little lesson, but after a few minutes I started making them nervous so I left them to it.

Mrs. Morris also lives at my house. She might as well. She's a neighborhood kitty. And the sweetest one I ever met! She lets me love on her. She and I watch birds together :)

gone away from me?

I've been disconnected. To my Self, to my people, to music, to the Universe. I don't like it. I start feeling my old friend anxiety creeping in telling me that I won't be able to re-connect like I was before. And it reminds me of something Elizabeth Gilbert said. I think I even posted it once. About working every day to maintain your happiness. It's a full time job. I forget that sometimes. I get in a daily grind and it becomes the same day after day and I slowly stop doing those things that I need to stay connected and happy and me. She also said in Eat Pray Love, when she finally achieved her first meditation that she immediately panicked that she would never have that feeling again. I dont necissarily feel exactly that, because I feel like I've been let in on the biggest secret ever. I know how to get it all back. I just forget sometimes...when I notice something is off or not feeling right, I'll think DUH! I have to maintain this. Just like a little garden. You gotta pull the weeds every now and again. And you have to water it to make it grow. And spiff it up from time to time. That's all.

In all honestly, I think Dexter is to blame for this momentary lapse of bliss. I have been so addicted lately that I haven't even really been living life. I've been living in Miami with Dexter Morgan 24/7. I'm a little sad, truthfully, that I'm all caught up but grateful at the same time that maybe now I can get out and live a little. I just need a little stimulation.

Random, but I just checked the ipod and curiously, this is the most played song.

Interesting. I do love this song with all my heart of course, but not what I thought would have been the most played song. Nice little surprise.
