spreading the cheer

Thursday, December 20, 2007
Since I'm in such a lovely cheery mood I thought I'd share a video that is so inspiring to me. I love this video so much. I dont think there's anything he can't make totally amazing. Like the Midas touch...he has the Mraz touch...everything he does turns out ridiculously amazing.

In a nutshell...I love him

Just thankful...

There was a time
There was a place
You had a smile on your face
And everything we had was innocent
I’d go back again
I touched your hand the day we met
There’s just some things you don’t forget
You were standing in your dress without your shoes
That’s how I remember you

I really like this song. Im not that big a fan of Graham Colton though. I liked him better when it was The Graham Colton Band. These lyrics are lovely though. I can relate to them well. It reminds me of certain things and certain people. I recently read a book about having one last chance to tell people things you never told them or things you really wanted them to know and I think thats what this song makes me think of.

I've been really fortunate in my life and the older I get the more I realize that and am thankful for it. I've really only been in one relationship that I'd rather not remember. I've been lucky with the people I've loved and gotten to know. Im glad I met those people. Everything, whether it's good or bad makes us who we are. We learn from our mistakes and Im glad I made them. I've gotten to travel to some really wonderful places and meet interesting people. I've had some really kick ass times with some really awesome people. I have so many good memories.

This is the first year I've ever in my life had a new years resolution. I usually figure I wont keep one but this year Im going to. I'm excited about the coming year! I hope everyone everywhere has a very warm and toasty holiday!

Here's to reminiscing

So Ive recently decided to start writing again. I've been reading some stuff I wrote years ago, short stories and there's this one that's very depressing and gloomy and very unlike any of the other things I wrote back then, but at the same time, I think it's the one that was most like what my life was like at the time and that makes me sad. Reading it today I was thinking jeez, I must have been pissed at the world when I wrote that, and come to think of it...I really was. I must have been venting in the form of stories. I kinda like the story though and its probably the best written one out of the bunch so I decided to keep writing on it. That way, now that I am in a totally different place, years older and wiser, I can write a happy ending! I havent had any writing inspiration in years but recently it just came to me.Music can bridge anything. Speaking of music...Im really diggin Band of Horses, Patty Griffin, Silverchair and Paolo Nutini. Being honest though, what made me want to write again was the old stuff. Mary Beth Maziarz, Alanis, David Grey, John Mayer, Chantal. A sountrack cd I made years ago. I love old mixed cd's. When you totally forget about songs you adored that were on repeat for ages and you find them and they take you back. So here's to it!

tis the season

It's beginning to look alot like doo-tee. Ha. I used to sing that as a kid. I looove this time O year. The chirry weather, not to be confused with chilly...the little fake light up snowmen, the very toasty red holiday starbucks cups, the traditional Christmas tree little debbie cakes, wrapping paper, nightly batches of sugar cookies with sprinkles, home made apple cider, reading books by the Christmas tree. Ahhh I love it all.

This year so far has been pretty coZty (cozy and toasty in one!) I have a new home with a wonderful fire place and high vaulted ceilings. The Christmas tree looks even better with the high ceilings and I can actually hang my stockings on the mantel instead of the entertainment center. My puppy who could very well be THE cutest dog ever in the world lets me put Santa hats on her, place her in front of the tree and take pictures. She loves me. She really does! Ive never seen a dog give hugs and love on people the way she does. Its sweet as can be.

Ive had great luck with buying gifts so far. I always worry about not getting any good gift ideas and then at the last minute something great and fantastic will come to me, as did it this year. Woo hoo! Ive had my fill of traditions so far too. Shopping on the Friday after Thanksgiving was eventful as ever. I got all I set out to get and more! I was done by 6:45, stopped at starbucks on the way home to wrap! Thanksgiving was very lovely and birthdays and other celebrations fill up the weekends right up until Christmas. Have I mentioned I love this time of year?
