two thousand eleven

Friday, January 27, 2012
This past year was a strange one. It flew by and looking back on it, it's a little blurry. Some good music happened, and some fantastical books, and some growing and changing and settling.

That pretty much sums up Christmas. It was lovely and bright. That went by quickly as well.

It's hard for me to pick favorites of anything. Always has been, always will be. But here's a lil list just for fun.

Favorite book of 2011...The Night Circus!!! Hands down!

Favorite songs of 2011(that came out in 2011)... Little Bird - Lisa Hannigan, Gold On The Ceiling - The Black Keys, New Love Song - The Avetts, It Will Rain - Bruno Mars. That's just what I can think of at the moment.

Favorite movie of 2011...Deathly Hallows Part 2 of course. Although I did love The Help and Bridesmaids, as well.

Favorite new music I discovered in 2011...Madeleine Payroux, Fitz and The Tantrums, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, The Civil Wars, Sonia Leigh.

In 2011 I was settling into my job and growing out my hair.

Slowly but surely.

Pottery is slowly but surely as well. More on the slowly side. It seems that I'm always struggling with something. For the longest time it was centering. Now it is trimming. And what's so hard about that?? I seem to take 5 giant steps forward and then 3 steps back.

This is a pot I made and trimmed at the end of 2010.

The edges are even and normal looking.

This is what they've looked like the last few times.

Jagged and uneven and stupid. So frustrating! Sometimes I think I get in a hurry but lots of times I just struggle. It's like my hands can never quite remember exactly how they did it last time. And when I go for long periods of time without throwing at all, it looks even worse. I guess it's all a work in progress. The job, the hair, the pottery.

So lets hope that 2012 brings lots of success and happy and wondyful.

Sail Away

I accidently left this video out in the last post and I'm glad cause it needs it's own lil section. I absolutely LOVE this!! It makes me want a lil kiddo to sing it to! This is the Jason I've missed.

It was another one of those special nights. Where every single song was magic. And everyone was holding their breath. He's been off in his own little world for the past while, but once you truly love someone, you always love them, and he's definitely making a re-appearance in mine ♥

I think this is my favorite from that night.

And I am loving this song

Some other favorites...
Plane
Fly Me To The Moon
Halfway Home always wonderful, and extra so this night!

He's sounding better than ever. He has been missed. I'm crossing my fingers for a Mraz Bonnaroo this year??

These guys are some of my favoritest things in the world. I love lots and lots and lots of music but they're just my kind. Every song, every video, every awesome thing they do. Cannot wait for their new stuff in the spring.

I think I add almost every video that crackerfarm uploads to my favorites, but that's because they really are!!

and just when ive decided which one i thinks the better singer, they go and change my mind again.

They're both wondy. And they make it look so easy. Even their practices are too good to be true. I am such a fan.

Over You

Monday, January 9, 2012

Even though he was over it and had a headache and I kept making him play and its a key too low, I love this little video. He had just learned it that day. I have more recent ones but I'll start with this one. Tis special to me. This was Christmas Day and he was so very excited about his new guitar.

It Will Rain

There's lots of awesome versions of this song. Specially the one from Ellen. Actually they're all awesome because that's just how he rolls. He is always, always amazing. Shit! I love Bruno Mars! I love this song, and this sweaty video. Even the girl singing can't keep her eyes off him. He's pretty spectacular.

p.s. and it's pretty extra spectacular with headphones. ♥

I love books. And stories. So, so much. I've had this book in my stack of 'to reads' that is always and forever growing and getting out of hand. And it's so silly...the bigger the stack gets, the more anxiety it gives me. Like I'll never catch up. No matter how good the book I'm currently reading is, I'll wonder what else I'm missing out on. HaHa.

Two nights ago, I finished Wither, which I enjoyed. It's angsty and weird and suspenseful and teeny, which all makes for a good read. But this book.... I'm only on page 52 or so and it's magical! I'm so excited!! I love it when books like this come along!! This has been my favorite since the Hunger Games. And it's on a whole other level. I love YA fiction. Some YA books are actually really good. But then I read something like this and I think...I've been missing out!! Just like I worried I was. Ahh it's all very comical, the way I am about books. I just can't help it. At least I make fun of myself and am fully aware of how bad it is.

definitely worth sharing
